The places to eat we’ve listed below are some of the top places we would recommend to eat in the city of Bath, purely based our own dining experiences.
The Cosy Club
Located directly opposite the large Debenhams store and short distance from the train station is the Cosy Club.
I would compare the cosy club to an old school gentlemen’s club with lots of large eccentric lamp shades, a mixture of styles of seating – is definitely a quirky place and a mixture of old meets new. Very popular with couples who are looking for a quite drink or somewhere to eat in Bath. Lot’s of seating is available once inside with a balcony area as well ,which is wonderful in the summer time looking out on to the new shopping area,
With a great selection of some lovely meals on the menu and a good level of service we would highly recommend The Cosy Club.
Jimmy’s World Grill and Bar
Also know as Jimmy’s Spices this restaurant is located opposite the new bus station and is a great place to eat in Bath.
If you have never been before it truly is a fantastic experience. Once inside you will be able to eat as much as you like from across the globe. Sample foods from Asia, Italy, China, Taiwan just to name a few, all freshly cooked with an excellent level of service.
It is also a great place to take children as they will be able to try foods that may not get the chance to try anywhere else and with a chocolate fountain, where they can cover marshmallows or fruit in chocolate, they will want to make a second visit.
Prices are very responsible, but be warned at the weekends and in half terms it can get pretty busy.
Ask Italian Restaurant
This has to be our favourite Italian restaurant in the city. If you love Italian food and are looking for some where in Bath to eat, we would highly recommend ASK.
The ASK restaurant is located on George Street which is pretty much at the top end of the main city strip, set within a beautifully renovated building.
Whether you are looking for somewhere to eat for a romantic dinner, or a large group of friends ASK of bath will be able to accommodate you.
We would highly recommend booking in advance if you would like to eat there of an evening, as it can get pretty busy. The food is to die for, and ranges from the usual pasta dishes, pizza, fish dishes and much, much more. ASK of Bath main menu can be viewed online prior to making a booking which can be found here.
The level of service is wonderful and all the staff are very friendly and gets our recommendation.
Hall and Woodhouse
Hall and Woodhouse is a fairly new restaurant to the city of Bath. The Hall and Woodhouse is located right in the heart of the city behind Jolly’s department store, or just off the Queen’s Square.
The food is outstanding at the Hall and Woodhouse and I personally would recommend the fish pie. The level of service is second to none and they also have a great selection of wine, beers and ales on tap as well.
As mentioned earlier the Hall and Wood house is new restaurant to the city of bath and only opened in 2010, after a huge restoration project of the old Bonhams auctioneers building.
The transformation has been incredible, particularly if you knew what the old building looked like. The building has be brought back to life with four floors including a stunning rooftop terrace, which in the summer months is a wonderful place to look out onto the surrounding view.
Our final recommendation if you are looking for somewhere to eat in Bath is a restaurant called WOODS.
Located opposite the Assembly Rooms in the City Of Bath, Woods is a quaint little restaurant that achieves some wonderful testing food.
Set on the ground floor of a Georgian town house Woods has a wonderful warm feel inside and the food is simple divine. It is the perfect place to pop in for a spot of lunch, or will a group of friends. The food is great, and the service is just as good as the food.
